“Babywearing is the ancient practice of wearing (or carrying) a baby in a sling, wrap or another form of a carrier.” Apparently this has been going on for centuries and has gained popularity due to the influence of advocates of natural and attachment parenting.
Natalie Dib, a Certified Babywearing Consultant by the Babywearing Institute from Dreamcatcher Babywearing Consultations and Wraps, explained the the different types of carriers: wraps (woven/stretchy) and ring slings and the importance of how the baby should be positioned.
Dr. Carrie Wells, from Huppie Mama and a BOBA Ambassador, explained how she uses soft structured carriers with her kids. She explained that Babywearing is a wonderful way for a dad or family member to bond with the baby.
