The Wynwood Yard rolls out the red carpet for our planet Earth this month at the annual Earth Day at The Yard on April 21st brimming with fun activities and workshops for the entire family to enjoy. Also on Earth Day, join The Yard for its monthly Community Cleanup in collaboration with local activist groups and workshops and activities for the kiddos including a visit by our feathery friends from Jungle Island to The Yard. Other notable events in April include a super cool Renegade Craft Fair and Tiki Thursdays at Charcoal Garden Bar + Grill.
COMMUNITY – EARTH MONTH ACTIVITIES
Earth Day at The Wynwood Yard | Saturday, April 21st | 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Get your green on with fun, hands-on, educational workshops and activities for the entire family including a plant-based baking cooking class with Chef Pamela Wasabi and a make your own easy and tasty trail mix in recycled #5 containers by Whole Foods Market. Bring your old clothing to up-cycle it into bracelets with The Full Edit, and learn about planting medicinal plants in Earth Mother’s Herbalist Gardening Workshop.
Meet local organizations and small businesses that are making big impacts, like Surfrider Foundation, Debris Free Oceans, and Urban Green Works, as they share tips at their informational booths. Shop earth-friendly products from local producers and artisans like Respect the Fin, make flower crowns with Zoom Blooms, and be sure to stop by the photo booth to get your Earth Day pic in front of the Andromeda Studios Living Wall.

Jungle Island at The Wynwood Yard | Saturday, April 21st | noon – 3 p.m.
The feathery stars of Jungle Island want to hang with the community on the mainland. Animals such as Jungle Island’s famous parrots are making an exclusive appearance at The Wynwood Yard on a fun-filled day featuring hands-on animal interactions, interactive art with the parrots and more surprises. Keg & Klean with Debris Free Oceans + Surfrider Miami Community Clean Up | Saturday, April 21st | 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. | $15 – $20
This Earth Day special edition of The Yard’s Community Cleanup monthly event is presented in collaboration with Surfrider Miami and Debris Free Oceans. Meet at The Yard at 4 p.m. and get ready for a fun neighborhood mission to beautify Wynwood while also making an impact on Biscayne Bay and our Miami beaches where trash eventually makes its way from city centers, harming marine life and water quality.
Included in the $20 participation fee is a reusable Klean Kanteen cup which will get you a complimentary draft beer at entry to the clean up (PLUS $1 off every draft beer purchased ever at The Bar at The Yard forever after), trash bags, gloves and directions. You’ll travel through the neighborhood, cleaning up as you go, making pit stops for sponsored drinks, bites, and insight at Division Surf & Skate Shop, Concrete Beach Brewery, and R House Wynwood. The beloved national Renegade Craft Fair pops up in Miami this month! Join this intimate one-day-only celebration of April’s pink moon and get crafty! Check out artisanal goods by celestially-inspired makers + designers. Shop emerging and established makers’ goods and network with other makers. Maker Monkey Workshop: Building for Kids| Sundays, April 8th & 29th | 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. | $25
Kids get downright artisanal at this workshop led by the pros at Maker Monkey. Kids will create their own playful puppet at the April 8th class and an exciting project of the day (to be announced) on the 29th. Bring the whole family and don’t fret, kids under three will keep their hands busy with a safe activity while bigger brothers and sisters craft their woodworking or craft project.
