At Sugar Sand Park’s 5th annual Arts Spark Kids Fest, kids will experience a sampling of many artistic outlets in and around our community. This interactive festival takes place on Sunday, February 18 from 11am-4pm and celebrates the creative, performing and visual arts Admission is $10 for kids 12 and under, and adults are free with paid child(ren). This action-packed event offers a multitude of performances, workshops, demonstrations and make & takes.
Unique outdoor booth activities will be offered by local artists and arts organizations, such as:
· Young at Art Museum
· School of Rock Boca Raton
· Storytelling with Miss Mij
· KidzArt Palm Beach
· My Florida Therapy
· Uptown Art
· Sea Star Waldorf School
· Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, and more.
Kids will also enjoy Tae Kwon Do board breaking, obstacle course activities, a juggle circle, several different art activities, and many more expressive and cultural art components. Outdoor booths will be open all day while supplies last.
The outdoor stage performances include The Amazing Mr. A’s comedy, magic & ventriloquism show; the gravity defying Flying Wade Henry Show, with juggling/unicycling/comedy/audience participation; and short contemporary dance pieces from Demetrius Klein Dance Company.
Dozens of 20- to 30-minute workshops will take place inside the Community Center at specified times throughout the day, and will be tailored toward specific age groups, from toddler to elementary school age. Space will be limited. Workshops include:
· Family dance, tot dance, tumbling, jazz, ballet, hip-hop
· Musical Theatre and Drama
· Drawing, and more.
The event wristband includes admission to all entertainment, exhibitor booths, make & takes all indoor workshops, and one balloon art creation. Additional fees apply to value-added activities – face painting, sand art, airbrush tattoos- and food vendors Wristbands can be purchased in person, the day of event only.
