Do you make time for Family Fun Nights?
With back to school, weekend birthday parties and late nights at work, you can get on a hamster wheel of never seeing or really speaking to your family.
We try to get together as a family at least one Friday a month and reconnect and have some fun. It doesn’t have to be super complicated or expensive. I’m sure you have some of these ideas in your home already. Playing games, music and serving budget-friendly food makes it fun for all. Even when you throw it together at the last minute.
Here are 3 ideas for the best family fun night.
1. PLAY GAMES
On Family Fun Nights, I make my kids get off the game apps and play some real old fashion games. The technology sometimes it’s out of control.
I look forward to Family Fun Nights when we can get together and play card games. After teaching them War and Gin Rummy this summer, they now beat me every time.
On certain Family Fun Nights, my kids have a lot of energy. That’s when I get out a few classic games that keep us moving like charades or Twister. It’s a great time to release from the week, laugh a little and reconnect as a family.
2. HAVE A DANCE PARTY
What’s a family fun night without a dance party? Break out the disco ball and get the dance party started!!
Play your favorite dance party songs. Create a few games like freeze dance or stay in your square. We have square tile flooring, so if you touch the lines or fall out, then you have to sit down until the end of the song.
You can also practice the latest dance moves. My 7-year-old is finally teaching me how to floss.
3. SERVE YUMMY FINGER FOODS
After all the activity, my family gets hungry. But I want to make it easy and fun. That’s why I love serving finger foods. No fuss! No muss!
These Milford Valley Stuffed Chicken Minis are perfect to serve.
The Stuffed Cordon Bleu Chicken Minis are the kids’ favorites. How can you go wrong with ham and cheese stuffed in chicken? Raw breaded white chicken patties filled with deliciousness. Just bake and serve.
I like a little spice in my life, so the Stuffed Jalapeno Chicken Minis are my favorite. The spicy cream cheese melts in your mouth along with the crispy crunchy chicken shell.
The Stuffed Buffalo Style Chicken Minis is a crowd pleaser. These stick-shaped white chicken patties are filled with a season cream cheese. My husband couldn’t get enough. Perfect for big fingers and little fingers too.
