Being a Florida Resident, I’ve had the luxury of going to Disney World at least two to three times a year with my family.
Each time I go, I get the Local Mom Scoop from my Local Mom Friends about Disney World Tips and Tricks that I should try.
One of the tips was to do the math for the Florida Seasonal Passes and the regular Florida Resident tickets. Depending on how many times you plan to go in a year, it may be cheaper to buy the Florida Seasonal Passes. If you time it right, you can see the Magic Kingdom Fireworks from the boat taking you back to the main parking and transportation area avoiding the crowds.
But during this trip, I found out a few new tips, tricks and maybe a little Scoop that I would like to share.
Here is the Scoop on 5 Disney World Tips and Tricks
1. You Can Bring Coolers into the Disney Parks.
I love the Magic Kingdom! As a Florida Resident, we have the luxury of going to Orlando when we want. But most times, it’s at the last minute. If we didn’t book Cinderella’s Royal Table 180 days in advance or any other Table Reservation Restaurant, then we are pretty much eating Starlight Diner or Peco’s Bills for lunch and dinner.
Sometimes we bring our own cooler and pack sandwiches, waters, and fruit. In the Magic Kingdom, you can find a table in any land to plop your family down, refuel and unwind a bit before the final afternoon push. It’s a little more work and planning, but it works for us!
2. The Disney Experience App is the Way To Go.
The Disney Experience App is really fun and easy to use. I created all my Fast Passes for the day and when my kids changed their minds Monday morning and wanted to go back to the Magic Kingdom instead of Hollywood Studios, I logged on and changed our Fast Passes right away. I also added any parades and added the Frozen Show at 6:15 pm to my itinerary.
3. Charging Stations at the Tangled Bathrooms in the Magic Kingdom.
When Disney was building Rapunzel’s Castle, I was disappointed when I found out it was a restroom/stroller parking area. But it’s a great place to stop, take a break and recharge your phone and your body.
3. Play Games at the Magic Kingdom
For Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, you can use your magical powers to defeat villains by roaming the park playing this fun game. At the Firehouse on Main Street, USA, you can pick up your map and black cards that help you along your journey.
During A Pirate’s Adventure, you can discover hidden treasure and be a member of Jack Sparrow’s crew. You can use your Magic Band for this game along with your map as you find clues around Adventureland.
4. Frozen Merchandise Is Everywhere
When I was at Disney World in January, the only Frozen merchandise I could find in any of the Disney Parks was Elsa’s wig and a Rice Krispy Treat with the Frozen sister’s faces. Now, it’s everywhere! I think I counted over 300 Elsa’s running around the Magic Kingdom.
5. Be Kind to Disney Employees.
My little one was excited to meet Tiana. As we walked closer to the gazebo in Liberty Square, we overheard a dad yelling at the Disney employee who was trying to explain to him that Tiana would be back at 11:45 am. He basically was having a tantrum in front of his kids and stormed off.
The poor woman was so frazzled and started to explain to us that Tiana would be back. I gave her a consoling look and told her not to worry that we would be back later. She stood there for a moment as did we. Then she motioned for us to quickly walk through to see Tiana and explained that she could see one more princess.
As we left the gazebo, my kids looked at her from across the way and yelled “Thank you” and she blew us a kiss.
