It’s hard to find family-friendly restaurants that have decent food and a kids menu. When you decide you’re not cooking tonight, you want a restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and cool vibe that can accommodate your kids.
Look no further because Tucker Duke’s in Boca Raton has a New KIDS MENU.
Tucker Duke’s considers themselves to be a “southern style burger joint serving the best craft burgers, craft beers, and snacks in town with tons of flavor
and just as much sass!” I consider them to be saving mom’s sanity at dinner time.
My family had the opportunity to try the new kid’s menu plus some of their ridonculous burgers, sides and snacks.
Get the local scoop on 5 reasons why my family loves to eat at Tucker Duke’s.
1. The Relaxed Atmosphere
When I walk into Tucker Duke’s, I feel like I’m walking into a local burger joint where everyone knows your name. It’s cool vibe and menu makes you feel like you’re not about to order just any burger, you ordering an experience. Part of the experience allows you to see through to the kitchen where Chef Brian makes his magic happen. Grab a high-top for 8, sit at the bar or play Heads Up on your Smartphone while you wait for your delicious meal.
2. The Snacks
Between the Fried pickles and Reuben fritters, it took me a few minutes to decide what to select. Our server was so helpful and recommended a few options.
After some serious food deliberation, we chose the Food Truck Rolls. My husband and I are huge fans of anything with buffalo sauce. Stuffed with buffalo chicken and cheddar cheese, they melted in our mouths. The avocado ranch sauce really balanced the heat and cooled things down.
When they brought this “Snack” to the table, I was a bit nervous. I’m not a big mushroom fan, but the Portabello Fritters were pretty delicious! The mushrooms were breaded with panko crumbs and parm accompanied with their horsey sauce. Yum!
Next was the Nacho Tator Tots with nacho cheese, scallions and just plain yummy goodness. I think the picture below explains itself.
3.New Kids Menu
The Lil Tucker Duke’s Menu had the basic kid food groups that every kid loves to eat. It included chicken nuggets, sliders and grilled cheese. Our kids chose the PB & Homemade Jam. It was a winner along with the Mini Corn Dogs.
My oldest made a surprisingly smart choice and ordered the Grilled Chicken Tenders for a change. Good choices!!
All the meals on the kid’s menu come with a side of Tator Tots, Housemade Potato Chips or Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese was local kid scoop approved. (They are super picky about their mac).
4.The Tucker Duke and More
This is a restaurant that stands behind their burger. The Tucker Duke is their signature burger and THEY DO NOT Change it. You get what you get and you don’t get upset as my mom always said. Or do I say that?
Anyways, it comes with fried onions rings, American cheese, the delightful “Tucker sauce”, spring mixed greens and tomato slices.
The Spicy Lola may have been my fave of the night. The English cheddar, bacon, red onion confit, fried potato strings, jalapeno jam, spring mixed greens and sliced tomato were an awesome combo. Who knew?
Tucker Duke’s hasn’t forgotten about the seafood lover. The Shrimp Po’Boy doesn’t disappoint and is enough for two people.
5. Chef Brian
Chef Brian did some amazing cooking and made us feel like we were in his home. When my 9-year-old, Food Network junkie, found out that he was a former contestant and winner on Cutthroat Kitchen, she was giddy with delight. He was one of the first people to sign her new cast (Post to come about this) which she will keep forever.
Thanks to Chef Brian and his amazing staff for making us feel at home and inviting us to dine at Tucker Duke’s. Not having to cook that night after such a long day of motherhood made my life, that one day, a little easier.
Disclosure: Local Mom Scoop was invited to dine at Tucker Duke’s. I was not compensated for this post and all of my opinions are 100% my own. I only share the scoop I think my followers will enjoy.
