Taking your family on vacation to Walt Disney World after May is gutsy. You better be prepared for some heat. You need to pack hats, lots of sunscreen and you can also bring in your own bottled water.
When the sweat starts to drip, the whining starts up. The best thing to do is find a place to cool off and hydrate. On our last trip to Epcot, I’ll admit I was a little sweaty and so were my kids. As we walked through Future World, I noticed a few places where the breeze blows a little harder and the air conditioning pumps a little faster.
Check out 8 Places To Cool Off At Epcot When Your Kids Are Whining.
1. Stand In Line For Test Track
When booking your Fast Passes for Soarin’ or Test Track, you’re only allowed one or the other that day. Book your Fast Pass for Soarin (check height requirements for both of these rides) and wait in line for Test Track. You’re inside the building when waiting for both rides, but there is more to look at during your Test Track Wait. Tip: Book your Fast Pass for Soarin’ early in the day and wait in the cool air conditioning later in the day.
2.Drive Your Stroller To The Advanced Training Lab
In order to ride Mission Space, there is a height requirement. When my daughter found out she was too small, I had to act fast. On the left side of the building is a Mission Space store, but if you go around the corner you’ll find the Mission Space: Advanced Training Lab. I wheeled my stroller in, gave my little one a snack while we waited for the others. It was cool and dimly lit space!
3. Ride Spaceship Earth
When waiting for this ride, you’re partially outside, but you’re in the shade. This is a great ride to learn about history, but also to sit down and cool off. Maybe your little one will take a short snooze.
4.Hang Out By The Spaceship Earth Rock Fountain
There seems to be a nice cool breeze blowing around this area. Take a minute in the shade to cool off and regroup.
5. Wait In Line For The Seas With Nemo And Friends
Want to talk Brrr? The wait for this ride is one of the best ways to cool off. Your kids’ little red faces will surely cool down while waiting for the seashell to take them away under the sea.
6.Hang Out In the Aquarium
After seeing Nemo and all of his friends, you’ll hear “Whoa!” from your family when you realize you’re actually in an Aquarium. Look for sharks, stingrays, even learn about manatees. You can stay as long as you want.
7. The Breezeways In Future World
Going from Test Track all the way to the other side of Future World to Soarin’, you’ll pass through some covered breezeways. If you need a minute, grab a bench and cool off with the breeze that flows through.
8. Meet Characters Inside
When we were walking through one of the breezeways above, we looked to our left and saw Character Meet & Greets with BayMax from Big Hero 6 and Joy and Sadness from Inside Out. This was a great way to take 30 minutes to cool off our bodies and see some of our favorite Disney Movie Characters.
