When was the last time you met a girlfriend for dinner and wine to catch up on the latest scoop?
I was invited to Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar & Tapas in Delray Beach for a menu tasting and to talk blogger scoop and catch up on the latest gossip, news and maybe the Bachelorette.
Who is Angelo Elia you ask?
He is an Italian-born chef/restaurateur owning such dining establishments as three Casa D’Angelo restaurants (Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and Paradise Island/Bahamas), as well as a growing chain of wildly-popular small plate Italian eateries – Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar, Tapas (Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Delray Beach and Coral Springs).
I drive by one of the Casa D’Angelo’s everyday not realizing that the first one opened it’s doors in 1998 and is still a South Florida favorite.
Elia’s culinary has garnered him numerous awards including Zagat’s America’s Top Restaurants; Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence for the past 15 consecutive years, as well as 100 Best Wine Restaurants in 2012. Casa D’Angelo received a four star review in the Sun-Sentinel, as well as the Golden Spoon Award from Florida Trend magazine.
Elia is always looking forward to the next innovation, the next challenge. Angelo Elia concepts will continue to expand in South Florida and beyond. Plans are in the works for an Italian bakery bar and additional locations for Angelo Elia Pizza, Bar, Tapas.

The Burrata was surrounded with arugula, Parma prosciutto (served on the side for my veggie blogger friend and drizzled with fig balsamic was definitely a favorite.
The crispy tempura zucchini flower were mozzarella stuffed and served with a spicy sauce and a mild creamy sauce.
The garbanzo beans were the favorite part of this dish including the grilled octopus with roasted tomato and lemon wedge.
I almost ate this entire plate myself. The eggplant rollatini stuffed with ricotta and spinach. It was also covered with melted mozzarella and marinara sauce.
We were both fighting over the linguine with clams which was covered in garlic & oil, white wine and parsley.
Nutella stuffed dough fried to deliciousness. Need I say more!!!
