The City of Boynton Beach is celebrating the 4th of July Festivities in style by presenting a FREE community event at Intracoastal Park, 2240 N. Federal Highway, just south of Gateway Boulevard overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and the Boynton Inlet.
Live Music – Two Great Bands
Enjoy live music from 6:00 – 10:30 p.m. The featured entertainers include New Horizons Band, an R & B and Blues and Jazz band from 6:00 – 7:15 p.m. and Never Stop Believin (Journey Tribute Band), from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. and continuing after the fireworks from 9:20 – 10:20 p.m.
The first band to perform will be The New Horizon Band from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. Don’t miss this great performance, it is guaranteed to get your feet tapping and hands clapping. The eight member band includes bass guitar, drums, guitar, keyboards, saxophone, and trumpet. They’ve been playing all over Palm Beach County, including at Sunfest, Art Festival Belle Glade, Jazz After Dark and Jazz on the Avenue for over 6 years. The members of the band have a wide range of talent and have opened for artists including Percy Sledge, Archie Bell and the late, great B.B. King.
The second band is set to perform at 7:30 p.m. and again at 9:20 p.m. immediately following the fireworks (until 10:20 p.m.). Never Stop Believin (Journey Tribute Band) is fronted by the incredible vocals and presence of Lindley who looks and sounds just like Steve Perry. You will be amazed to see how the band plays the songs note for note with four part live vocal harmony. The look, sound, and majesty that is Journey is captured by this pro level tribute act in every way. Florida based, Never Stop Believin has wowed crowds in the Dominican Republic at the Hard Rock Café, Honduras, Trinidad, El Paso Texas, Buffalo New York, and New Orleans!
Patriotic Salute and Fireworks Display
In between the fantastic music, a special patriotic salute will start at 8:45 p.m. featuring the Boynton Beach Police Department Honor Guard, the Pledge of Allegiance by Mayor Steven Grant and the singing of the National Anthem by New Horizons Band lead singer, Felicia Flint. The spectacular, musically-choreographed fireworks display will begin at 9:00 p.m. sharp.
Continuous activities are planned in the Kids’ Corner including arts and crafts, games, and face painters. Food and beverage vendors will be on-site throughout the entire event. Spectators can bring their own blankets and chairs. No pets or personal fireworks allowed for the safety of all spectators.
Parking and Shuttle
The park will be open all day, and vehicles will allowed in the park beginning at 5:00. On-site parking is limited but there are two locations for a free park and ride shuttle: Boynton Beach City Hall (100 E. Boynton Beach Boulevard) and from the Hester Center (1901 N. Seacrest Bvld.) from 5:30 – 11:00 p.m. The final departures from both locations to the event will be at 8:30 p.m. with the shuttles resuming from Intracoastal Park at 9:30 – 11:00 p.m.
