Free Coding Workshops – This is an exciting opportunity for kids ages 7-17 to be exposed to and learn how to code in the world of technology. Classes taught by Coder Dojo in collaboration with Hello Labs and hosted in the South Florida Science Center’s new tech lab.
FREE, but participants must pre-register at www.sfsciencecenter.org/coderdojo.
CoderDojo is a global movement of free, volunteer-led, community-based programming clubs for young people. At a Dojo, young people (called Ninjas), between 7 and 17, learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games and explore technology in an informal and creative environment. In addition to learning to code, attendees meet like minded people and are exposed to the possibilities of technology.
Within the CoderDojo Movement, there is a focus on community, peer learning, youth mentoring and self-led learning, with an emphasis on showing how coding is a force for change in the world!
Parents will need to stay with their children while our group of Mentors, Hello Labs Team Members and other tech community volunteers, will lead the kids in individualized learning. If you have a laptop, please feel free to bring it. If not, the Science Center is generously providing us with loaners as well.
Any questions feel free to reach out to CoderDojo on their Facebook page CoderDojo Palm Beach Gardens.
