Get ready for the Annual Scarecrow Festival & Contest in downtown West Palm Beach! This family event invites guests to come celebrate the season and enjoy kids’ activities, arts & crafts, live music, food, agriculture booths, and the renowned Scarecrow Competition. The Festival will be held on the grounds of the Historic 1916 Court House, home of the#Johnsonhistorymuseum in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach.
The Scarecrow Competition continues as the big draw, with businesses, schools, individuals and community groups vying for cash prizes. Holding with tradition, the courthouse lawn will be filled with fall family favorites like pumpkin decorating, a haystack hunt, museum tours, face painting, cornshucking, and crafts tents. This year’s agriculture displays will be bigger and better than ever, and the bake sale assures delicious, classic and creative treats. For the competitive eaters out there, the pie eating contest is a don’t-miss!

Deadline to enter is Oct. 19, 2016. Entry forms are available online athspbc.org or http://bit.ly/2auwgcJ. Categories and cash prizes include People’s Choice ($300 prize), 1st place ($200 prize), and 2nd place ($100 prize). Local businesses are invited to join in the fun with a top prize that includes corporate membership, feature in “Society News” with an online distribution of over 3000, a trophy and bragging rights. Group rates are available to all contest entrants.
