Pack your bags and get ready for a family-filled weekend! Surfside, Miami’s Uptown Beachtown, is offering families the perfect setting to bond under the sun at the town’s first-ever Paddletopia, a dynamic paddle boarding festival.
This groovy two-day affair will feature loads of family fun, starting with paddle boarding, wellness expo with fitness classes and family bootcamp by Sweat Studio Miami, sweet scoops from Peekaboo ice cream, an eco-friendly ball pit, a graffiti “train” where mini Picasso’s can decorate an inflatable subway car, and a mini fishing pond. Plus, a live DJ mixing up top hits and old-time favorites.
Bask in the experience of dining from a retrofitted vintage trailer, which will be on site serving up lunch with Saffron Supper Club, a roving pop-up dinner club exploring the food and culture of the Middle East. Enjoy an eco-fashion showcase courtesy of tropical knitwear label Krelwear; freshen up with healthy snacks and organic refreshments including smoothies and juices from local-favorites, Maison Meneau and Raw Republic. Not to mention, there will be contests, giveaways, and much more.
Ventured off to Surfside yet? The charming beachtown is located just a couple miles north of South Beach, neighboring Bal Harbour, and is quickly evolving into Miami’s top family-friendly destination, Surfside hosts several family-friendly, wellness events throughout the year, however, Paddletopia is the first of its kind. Whether jogging along the popular beach running path, exploring the town on a Citi Bike rental, taking advantage of water sports on Surfside’s pristine beach – the pedestrian-friendly, walkable Town of Surfside has it all, and luckily it’s all situated within a one-mile radius.
Presented by Surfside’s Tourism Bureau, Paddletopia will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on May 19 & 20, 2018 at the 96th Street Park, located at 9580 Bay Drive, Surfside, FL. Free admission. Paddleboards will be available courtesy of Miami Beach Paddleboard or participants are welcome to bring their own. For more information, call 305-864-0722 or visit www.visitsurfsidefl.com.
