Local Mom Scoop was invited to a Girlfriends Getaway at the PGA National Resort & Spa. My opinions are 100% my own.
When was the last time you went with a girlfriend to get pampered and disconnect?
I honestly couldn’t remember either. The timing couldn’t have been better when I received the invitation from Karen Cantor, the Director of PR for the PGA National Resort & Spa, to enjoy an overnight stay at the PGA National Resort & Spa.
I went with my girlfriend and Soflo Moms On The Go co-host Dana Peller. We laughed, maybe cried and sang our way through the overnight stay. I knew I would have to share the scoop on all the fun.
Here is a girlfriend getaway guide to the PGA National Resort & Spa.
MAKE A SPA APPOINTMENT
Dana and I know it’s important to make time to be with friends. What better way to spend it together than at the spa. Nothing like a comfy robe and comfortable sandals to make two girls squeal with delight. (We did kinda squeal)
Our shoulders were a bit tense before we arrived. As a mom, you know what it’s like trying to coordinate your family before you leave for a destination. So, the steam room and sauna were calling our names to loosen up those muscles before out treatments.
The Deep Tissue Massage was heavenly. I admit that I love when someone can really get those little balls of the stress out. I also know the treatment is good when it takes me a few minutes to get off the massage table. Lot’s of water for this mama to flush out all those toxins.
The HydraFacial™ felt like microdermabrasion with cool water hydrating my skin at the same time. This resurfacing procedure thoroughly cares for your skin, providing cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration all while Vortex-Fusing™ antioxidants, peptides, and Hyaluronic acid. Celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Adrienne Maloof, Evan Rachel Wood, Kate Winslet, Marie Osmond, Brittany Snow and Amy Poehler use the HydraFacial™.
PLAN A SPA LUNCH
It was now time to toast to us and our day of leisure. Sipping Prosecco, we dined on a healthy and delicious spa menu. Our Waters of The World poolside cabana gave us the best view for people watching and easy access to the mineral-based and saltwater pools.
ORDER ROOM SERVICE
Sometimes it’s more fun to just stay in and order room service. We put on our cozy pajamas and sipped wine while catching up, brainstorming about our blogs and possibly breaking out in song. It was wonderful knowing I had a bed all to myself and I wouldn’t receive any visits from cute little faces in the middle of the night.
STRETCH, BREATH THEN LUNCH
We couldn’t lay around all morning. I needed a little stretching and breathing. The PGA Sports and Racquet Club has a full gym along with fitness classes and an exercise pool. I signed up for the Vinyasa Yoga class to keep me focused on my girlfriend getaway. It’s easy for my thoughts to stray off wondering about the kids, work or my hubby.
After, getting my zen on we met Karen for a poolside lunch at the Waves Cafe. The menu featured something for everyone. From strawberry salads to fish tacos, we enjoyed the cool mister blowing and listened to the rustling of the palm trees.
AS LONG AS YOU CAN
There is always that pressure of feeling like you need to get home. So don’t! After lunch, we enjoyed a pool cabana featuring a TV, small fridge, lounging area and more. We still had so much to chat about we knew we had to stay a little longer.
This was a great time to reflect on how much I love my family, need to keep up friendships and take more time for myself. I was so thankful that I could take the time to spend with myself and my friend.
It’s Spatober at the Spa from October 1 through October 31. For each Tickled Pink Treatment booked, $5 will go towards a Breast Cancer Charity. Book it today!!
You’ll thank me!!
