Just listening to other moms, I hear a lot of fear out there. I’ll be honest. I go to bed some nights fearing if I played enough, listened enough, loved enough, or worked hard enough. Whether it’s starting a new career, deciding to stay-at-home with the kids, wondering if you are parenting the right way, confronting a problem or working with social media, fear can get inside your head. You can say GOODBYE FEAR!
I was so happy to read this honest and heart felt post from my friend Tiffany Doner, a Social Media Consultant and owner of T. Doner & Associates. I asked her to share it with Local MOM Scoop.
Here are 3 great tips to remember throughout your day when feeling that FEAR come on.
Good-Bye Fear by Tiffany Doner
I have been an introvert for as long as I can remember. Most people that know me know that I can be shy and some people do not think this about me. Depending on where we meet some people may not even know that I am nervous to walk into a room full of strangers and force myself to talk to them. Everything in my body will tell me to not go, to not walk into the room, to not speak to someone. It’s all in the fear. The fear of saying something stupid, embarrassing or offending… the list could go on. I have always been better at being a wall flower then the center of attention.
Now that I am a business owner and must go and network and meet and talk and connect and talk and SPEAK. It has caused me to look at my fear and tell it to LEAVE ME ALONE. Does this help? Somewhat. But so does reminding myself some very important things that we all sometimes forget.
Fear is the absence of Faith. Well I for sure want to have more Faith then Fear. Wouldn’t you?
Stop listening to everything in your head! Especially that annoying little voice that keeps putting you down and telling you that you are not good enough.
Find a little mantra or affirmation for yourself.
Nothing will change unless I do.
Inhale confidence. Exhale doubt.
Always wear your invisible crown.
Be so good they can’t ignore you.
Count my blessings.
Let go of what I cannot control.
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
Some of these are thoughts and some affirmations to use on a daily basis. Look for yourself and you can find tons of these on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter.
The right mindset can change everything. I am a constant work in progress on this. I started to focus on my thoughts at the beginning of this year and I can tell how much it has helped me.
Sometimes we are our biggest critic. Stop the cycle and start seeing that you are Better than before and you can still work on being the Best you ever.
