Are you looking for Halloween and fall family fun in West Palm Beach?

I’ve been wanting to get back to a new normal and find things to do with kids in West Palm Beach.

Local Mom Scoop has some West Palm Beach Area fun for you. From drive-in movies to outdoor shopping events, we are sharing some social distancing events that will have you and your families feeling safe.

We’ve also found a few Halloween events for kids and I hope to be adding more soon.

It’s always exciting when I get to share things to do with kids in South Florida. That’s how the scoop started and it’s nice to see things to do in palm beach county again.

SEPTEMBER

“Show On The GO” Monsters Inc. in West Palm Beach

What: The City of West Palm Beach’s Community Events Department is launching a new drive-in entertainment option called “Show on the Go.” The “show” will be drive-in movies, and the “go” refers to the rotating nature of the event (which will alternate between Dreher and Currie Parks).

Saturday, September 19 is Monsters Inc. (2001) – G

Monsters Incorporated is the largest scare factory in the monster world, and James P. Sullivan (John Goodman) is one of its top scarers. Sullivan is a huge, intimidating monster with blue fur, large purple spots and horns. His scare assistant, best friend and roommate is Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), a green, opinionated, feisty little one-eyed monster. Visiting from the human world is Boo (Mary Gibbs), a tiny girl who goes where no human has ever gone before.

When: Saturday, September 19; gates open at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m.

Where: Dreher Park – Dreher Trail South; West Palm Beach, FL 33405 (across from the Palm Beach Zoo on the south side of Summit Blvd.)

How Much: General admission tickets are $10 per vehicle and $30 for VIP, plus a small processing fee. The VIP option includes front row parking, or as close as possible, plus a family four-pack of popcorn, non-alcoholic beverages, and candy. Tickets MUST be purchased by midnight of the day prior to the event. Additionally, refreshments will be available for purchase and delivered directly to the attendee’s vehicle.

Saturday, September 26 is Moana (2016) – PG

An adventurous teenager sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana meets the once-mighty demigod Maui, who guides her in her quest to become a master way-finder. Together they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.

When: Saturday, September 26; gates open at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m.

Where: Currie Park (2400 N. Flagler Drive West Palm Beach, FL 33407)

LEGACY PLACE AND CITY OF PALM BEACH GARDENS TO HOST DRIVE-IN MOVIE NIGHT

WHAT: Spiderman Into The Universe 2018 PG computer animated superhero feature film tells the tale of teenager Miles Morales who becomes the superhero of his universe who must join with five spider-powered others from other dimensions to stop a threat for all realities. 

WHEN: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and cars must be in place by 7:15 p.m.  Movie to start promptly at 7:30 p.m

WHERE: Legacy Place, 11290 Legacy Place Avenue, in partnership with the City of Palm Beach Gardens

COST: Admission is $15 per car load (non-refundable) to be paid at the time of reservation at https://legacyspiderman.eventbrite.com.  Upon arrival, attendees (one per vehicle) will receive a $10 gift card redeemable at a Legacy Place restaurant. 

No-shows will not receive a gift card.  Capacity is limited and per-car reservations are necessary. 

Attendees are invited to dine in at Legacy Place restaurants prior to the movie, pick-up or order food to be delivered at their cars.  COVID-19 guidelines must be followed.  Masks are necessary when out of your vehicle, social distancing must be observed and no sitting on top of cars. 

Participating restaurants include Five Guys, The Great Greek, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Sal’s Italian Ristorante, Chili’s Bar and Grill, Cool’a Fish Bar.

WHAT: What You Can Expect While Animal EDventure Park is closed Temporarily we are offering a SAFE No contact Guided Safari Tour From Your Car at our Home/Farm . Each group will be assigned their own personal tour guide that will educate and interact with you over the phone during the entire tour.

Their will be Up Close Encounters With Sloth, Zebra, Otter, Lemur, Tortoise & More.

These tours were developed to bring in lost revenue from our Animal Parks Temporary Closure due to what is going on & provide a SAFE, EDUCATIONAL & FUN activity for People of all ages in our local community..
Expect tour to last 30-45 minutes

OCTOBER

“LETTUCE SHOP SAFELY” City of West Palm Beach maps out plans for 26th annual GreenMarket season

WHAT: The GreenMarket will feature more than 90 quality vendors and will operate along the Waterfront, like in years past. This season vendors will be more spread out and the emphasis is on shopping versus socializing, among other updates.

There will be several initial changes this year for the safety of GreenMarket customers, vendors, and staff, who are expected to comply with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Florida Department of Health, State of Florida, and Palm Beach County COVID recommendations and directives.

Included in the changes are the suspension of activities for kids, additional café seating, live music, food samples, and bottomless mimosas.

Single mimosas will be available for purchase for $4 at the entrance. Merchant tents will be placed 10 feet apart. Attendees must wear masks to enter, will need to follow a path, and are encouraged to shop quickly. Hand sanitizing and hand washing stations will be placed throughout. Pre- and post-shopping, attendees are encouraged to patronize the multiple downtown restaurants’ Dining on the Spot locations. .

WHEN: October 3 through December from 9 AM – 1 PM.

Get Into the Halloween Spirit at The Gardens Mall

WHAT: Stop in for a spell and experience the spooky presence haunting The Gardens Mall. Beginning Saturday, October 17, two goofy ghosts will be hanging around Batty Manor in the Grand Court. 

The curious little cottage will be home to the silly and spooky specters of Mrs. Whistifer and her preposterous pal Mr. Hanks. The pair will delight guests with ridiculous riddles and dizzy ditties as they float above Batty Manor.

The Gardens Mall continues to exceed state and local recommendations by offering sanitizing stations, requiring daily health screenings and protective face coverings for employees, modifying seating, and providing visual indicators for social distancing.

WHEN: Don’t miss “Whistifer and Hanks’ Mostly Ghostly Revue” at Batty Manor, October 17 through 31. Experience their ghostly greetings during mall hours, Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

WHAT: This Halloween, get the family dressed in their Halloween best costume and join us for a safe and socially distant drive through trick or treating in Yesteryear Village!

For the 21st consecutive year, our Living History Park will come alive with entertainment, not-so-spooky décor and costumed volunteers offering treats and big smiles to the little ones.

Your children can now enjoy a slow cruise of friendly faces, familiar songs, Halloween vignettes and lots of candy, while staying in the safety of your car the whole time. After the ride, enjoy Fair Eats & Treats too! Fair food and sweets will be available for purchase. Your young ones will be leaving safely and soundly with smiling faces and a trick-or-treat bag!

JUNIOR LEAGUE OF THE PALM BEACHES 12th ANNUAL DECK THE PALMS BOUTIQUE MARKET Outdoors at Palm Beach Outlets, West Palm Beach

WHO: The Junior League of the Palm Beaches along with Deck the Palms Co-Chairs Rebecca Fordham and Susan Christiansen

WHAT: 12th Annual Deck the Palms Boutique Market

Deck the Palms is an outdoor event that features a variety of select local and international purveyors of fine goods including jewelry, home decor, men and women’s apparel, children’s goods, artisanal foods and more. This year’s event features a number of special ticketed opportunities including a Friday Night Kick-off Reception with a live band, V.I.P luxury lounge, and Princess and Pirate Entertainment Experience for all ages.

The $35 per person ticketed V.I.P. access includes:
