When I create my kids Easter Baskets, I’m always trying to come up with new and fun Easter Gifts.
I discovered Smooshies “The Sweetest Hangout in Town”.
They not only offer candy, but also a selection of exciting toys that encourage imaginative play. You can fill that Easter Basket with over 150 to 200 varieties of candy. So your kids don’t have to worry about missing the fruity, the tart, the chewy, the crunchy and the chocolaty. If you are concerned mama , they offer healthier options, such as sugar-free, organic and gluten free candies.
So while you are shopping, the kids can hang out in the Fun Lounge. It’s the perfect place for kids to meet up, hang out and catch up on homework. Free Wi-Fi is available.
Smooshies Toys & Nitrogen Ice Cream which is located in Key Biscayne and across from The Shops at Sunset Place, invites parents to “hunt” for unique Easter gifts they won’t find anywhere else, or package them all together to create a one-of-a- kind Easter basket for children and even teachers.
Several of their favorite must-have treats, toys and games at Smooshies that encourage imaginative play, rather than a mouthful of malted milk chocolate eggs, include the following:
Eco Eggs Easter Egg Coloring and Grass Growing Kit ($13.00).It includes three natural dyes used to create vibrant, decorated eggs, and are safe to eat. It also has a grass growing kit, so your grandchildren can grow their own grass to display their egg creations.
Ice Cream Science Kit ($37.50). This is perfect for children to explore with food and science, and they get to enjoy the ice cream they made at the end. What kid wouldn’t love this?!
Hand-Painted Eggs, made in Europe – $11.00 each.
Madd Capp Checkers (Cupcake Edition) $24.99 – a checkers game with a sweet twist, the pieces are cupcakes
Marshmallow Shooter – learn about air pressure while blasting marshmallows through the air. It’s a great alternative to marshmallow Peeps and will keep kids thoroughly entertained!
For traditionalists, Smooshies also sells Peter Rabbit Chocolate Bunnies with a storybook included. Additionally, Smooshies features beautifully hand-painted Ceramic Eggs, which can be purchased individually for $11.25
Smooshies also features traditional Easter gifts along with collector’s items, too. While browsing through Smooshies’ array of handpicked toys, customers can enjoy a cupful of nitrogen ice cream or an espresso.

Smooshies founder Gigi Alibhai grew up in Cuba, where her mother did her best to make life as sweet as possible. To make ends meet, Gigi’s mom, who was a political prisoner, worked at a candy factory, often bringing home sweet and colorful toys she had sculpted out of the leftover candy with her own hands.
Gigi — now a successful South Florida entrepreneur, philanthropist and mother of three — conceived of a place that would bring toys and candy together. She wanted to give kids a place where they could hang out and socialize, even do their homework in a cool, colorful, and fun location. To top it all off, the best idea contrived about Smooshies’ that really hits the sweet spot is – A percentage of every sale will be donated to charity.
Now, you’re probably wondering what “Smooshies” means. Well, “Smooshies” are Gigi’s two sons, a nickname coined by her daughter. And isn’t it just fun to say “Smooshies”? Especially with a mouth full of gummy bears 🙂
