“Turtles, Tigers and Lemurs! Oh my! I think I was more excited than my kids after receiving my invitation to a special Blogger’s Day Out at the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society. The girls and I had not been back in sometime and there had been a lot of changes, but some our favorite things were still the same.
LOCAL MOM SCOOP FACT: The Palm Beach Zoo started out as a petting zoo and now houses over 700 animals.
Our Zoo journey started with a Behind-the-Scenes special encounter with the Aldabra Tortoise Experience. This experience allowed my kids and I to get up close and personal with one of the world’s largest tortoises. Zookeeper Kate explained to my children about the importance of protecting our environment, so these creatures can survive.
Zookeeper Kate let us feed Patch a sweet potato. Make sure you add this on to your ticket price. It’s too fun to pas up.
Turtle Selfie with NoToe who is 88 years old and over 500lbs. Watch your feet!
After the encounter, we ran to Conservation Station to hop on the Wildlife Carousel and the Safari Train Ride for a few spins. I was dizzy by the end.
Story time at the Palm Beach Zoo is held every Saturday at 10:30am by the Zoo Train. You can click here to find out at Local Mom Scoop Events.
I perked up when given a bag of coffee from the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center which has developed the only 100% organic and shade-grown coffee certification available: Bird Friendly. That’s right—no other bag guarantees that every bean is produced organically and under high-quality shade. To get more scoop, click here.
How tall am I now? One of my favorite pics and a “must measure” as the year’s go by.
SNACK BREAK at the Tropics Cafe and Concession! Probably my kids favorite thing to do. It’s all about the BELLY!
