Steps to achieving this crafty Father’s Day card
HANDPRINTS
Prepare your little one for handprints (any color you prefer)
sponge on the paint. ( the younger the child the more difficult this could be, so get ready for bathtime after this craft)
get several prints to ensure that you have a good one to use
choose the prints then cut them out. 2 prints for 1 card
Choose the prints that you would like to use
one will be used on the front of the card as the waving hand
the other will be used inside the card as the fishy
3. Creating the inside of the card
use both of your child’s hands to make prints on the inside of the card to resemble seaweed.
cut out wavy pieces of green construction paper to also resemble seaweed. This will give the ocean floor a little more dimension.
fold the ends of the seaweed under and glue to the card so that the seaweed gives a pop out effect.
Choose 2 pictures that you would like to use.
one picture should be of your child for the front of the card
the other should be of daddy and child for the inside of your card
cut the picture small enough to fit under each handprint ( will probably be of just the faces)
Glue the one of your child to the bottom right corner of the front of the card
Glue the one of daddy and child to the inside of the card in the seaweed where the fish will go
Finishing the inside of the card
on the handprint that is being used as a fish, glue a scrap piece of paper folded in half that will act as a hinge to open, over the picture of daddy and child.
write your Happy Father’s Day message inside and don’t forget the date!!
Write O’Fish-ally the world’s Best Daddy( Grandpa, Uncle, whoever the card is for) on a white piece of construction paper. Cut the message out however you prefer
Glue this piece of paper on the top, inside of the card
Finishing the front of the card
cut circles out of scrap paper for your “Hi Daddy” message
Glue them to the top right of the card above the picture of your little one
write your message on the back of the waving handprint (Guess what)
create another flap out of a scrap piece of paper the same as for the handprint inside. So that this hand can open down
Glue the flap to the handprint then to the card covering the picture of your little one
