Some people chose a word like PEACE or BELIEVE and that’s their mantra, but this is mine and I would love to share it with you.
It’s been in and out of my life since I worked for Nordstrom.
My first real encounter with “Being Present to the Moment” was from one of the great bosses I got to work for. Then it hit me this past November on my family trip to Disney. I had my iPhone in my hands the entire time, wondering. Was Local Mom Scoop was working? Was my Facebook post being shared? I was constantly checking the wait times on my Disney app.
I was a total crank the whole day barely paying attention to my kids and my husband.
So, the second day of the trip my phone died early in the day because I forgot to charge it the night before. Also, I was checking the stupid wait times over and over. I had no choice. I had to disconnect and “Be Present to the Moment”.
Local Dad Scoop said, “Instead of trying to capture the moment, just be in the moment.”
When that happened, I started having fun!
As Local Mom Scoop moves forward, I wish that for you.
Try to Leave the dishes in the sink and go play outside with your kids. And leave your phone in your purse while having lunch with friends.
As I chant my mantra, I believe that 2016 is going to be an amazing year of taking it all in. Because like my parents say, “it goes by so fast” and you know it really does!
