Celebrate The Chinese New Year
Head to Jungle Island for Luminosa Festival of Lights and two Chinese acrobat shows. Miami’s popular eco-adventure attraction is happy to announce the extension of its enchanting nighttime lantern festival through February 9th. Luminosa was produced in partnership with Zigong Lantern Group, the world’s top Chinese lantern festival creators.
It just so happens 2020 is the year of the rat, which is perfect considering that Jungle Island also now offers new hands-on encounters with Capybaras, the largest living rodent on the planet. Fun facts: Capybaras are highly social animals, can stay underwater for up to 5 minutes at a time, and are closely related to guinea pigs. These mammals are not actually rats. However, they share common features as mice including their ever-growing front teeth.
From a stroll through the park to witness a breathtakingly beautiful lantern experience to encounters with rare animals, there is no shortage of adventures at Jungle Island this Chinese New Year. Find details and links to photos below on Luminosa and the new Capybara experience. For questions and/or for interviews, contact me directly. Thanks in advance for considering Jungle Island for your stories and/or roundups on top Chinese New Year events around the city.
