Who knew that just an hour away, my family would be transported to an easy, relaxed atmosphere, disconnecting from technology and learning to just be kids again.
Swank Specialty Produce has been hosting a series of family-style dinners for many seasons now. The Swank Family Style dinners happen on Sundays from 4 pm – 8 pm. Because of the success, they’ve designed a Sunday Brunch featuring locally recognized chefs.
Guess what? You can bring your kids.
So we did!
It was a magical day playing Tug of War, jump roping and craft making while dining on a delicious brunch menu designed by Executive Chef Tara Abrams who is now at the newly opened Crazy Uncle Mike’s located in East Boca Raton.
WHAT TO EXPECT
When you first arrive on the farm you are greeted with a “Wake-up Bite” and a Brunch Crafted Cocktail. The bites were delicious featuring and I was happy to see my kids try them all.
The menu featured:
- Cornbread French Toast with Honey Butter Syrup and Green Fennel
- Pecan Cinnamon rolls with crispy pork belly topped with pickled green melon.
- Smoked Eggplant Toast with Ricotta, Tomatoes, Nepitella and a Honey Drizzle
- Chicken Liver Mousse, Shaved Radish and Minced Chives inside and Egg
We sipped on Tito’s Vodka with Alta Palla Sparkling Water which was quite refreshing. My kids had juice boxes and were happy as can be.
My family wandered the Farm visiting the ducks, pigs and other animals waving to them from behind the fence.
There is a guided tour of the Farm Fields learning more about the growing operation with Owner Darrin Swank. We started on the tour, but then my kids wanted to roam before the brunch started.
Starting at 11:30 am, the main Brunch takes place under the magnificent Pole Barn.
You check-in at the front table to be seated family style. It was a pleasure talking to other parents and making new acquaintances.
During the brunch, we enjoyed live music and sipped on Unlimited Mimosas, Bloody Marys and Craft Beers.

This will change with each Swank Farm Brunch and each Chef, however, you can expect a delicious brunch that will be sure to please. Remember, it’s Family Style, so be ready to serve your friends and new acquaintances.

Sausage & Gravy, Poached Eggs, Buttermilk Biscuits
Old School Bakery Bourbon Bread Pudding
- Homemade Mac and Cheese was available for the kids as well
WHAT WILL YOUR KIDS DO
My kids had an amazing day on the farm. A special area for crafts and making bubbles was available for the kids along with an adult overseeing the area.
They played like when I was a kid. Making friends, jump roping, hula hooping and big smiles on their faces. I never heard the dreaded “I’m bored” and no child asked for technology. It was the perfect time for them to disconnect and be kids.
WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR
I saw a little bit of everything. It was still a seasonally warm day so a dress was in order. But it was the perfect opportunity to break out the boots. I saw lots and lots of boots.
