Who is ready for a Mom’s/Parent’s Night Out?
I know I am.
But know this! It’s not your ordinary moms/parents night out. This is the The Pump and Dump: A Parentally Incorrect Comedy Show and Night Out!
This is not your traditional comedy showcase full of observations on parenting.
This is a honest and true night out for parents: an interactive evening full of big laughs, original music (songs like “Eat Your F-ing Food” and “When I Die I Wanna Come Back as a Dad”), audience participation (games include “Stump the Expert” and “Bumpo: Bingo for Breeders”), awesome prizes (WINE!) and catharsis.
LANGUAGE ALERT- DON’T PLAY THIS WITH KIDS AROUND!
The Pump and Dump audiences are filled with every kind of mom, parenting style, dad, delivery, adoption story, sleep training method, brand of diaper, and advocate under the parenting sun. The show has turned into a singular, mommy and daddy-war ending event where everyone in the room laughs together about their common experiences as parents.
Here is their story!
For almost 3 years, comedian/musician Shayna Ferm and her sidekick MC Doula (Tracey Tee) have been giving moms this hour and a half of commiseration.
The show began on a Wednesday night in a local Denver bar, performed to a crowd of burned out, sleep deprived mamas and papas who needed a break, and has grown to fill 600 seat venues and sell out premiere comedy clubs across the country.
The demand for this night out has snowballed from a cult group of monthly followers to demands from across the country: Come to Tempe! Come to Nashville! Cleveland needs you!
For the two creators and moms of 3 children under 5, the show has been an additional baby – a full time job, exhausting, inspiring and nurtured.
“Everything we’ve done up until now in our lives has led to this show,” says Shayna Ferm. “I have 15 years of comedy under my belt. Tracey has consulted and built several businesses from the ground up. Our history as writers, performers, designers, marketing experts, waitresses – ha – and now mothers, has all led us to create The Pump and Dump.”

“We fell in love with The Pump and Dump because it makes an audience full of new moms laugh, cry and feel validated with their parenting experiences,” said The Bump Site Director Julia Wang. “Parenthood is filled with joy, love, and surprises. Not every day goes as planned and the show, like our website, app, and magazine, supports parents through the beautiful chaos of parenting—with laughter. We couldn’t be happier to sponsor their nationwide tour.”
“We use the Pump and Dump show as a vehicle to finally say what moms are afraid to admit: Parenting is HARD and can be completely ridiculous. Our mission is to spread generosity and humor, mom to mom, because we’re all just doing the best we can. Our show lets us laugh about all the really messed up stuff we encounter day-to-day and our hope is that we can help moms realize that none of us are alone.” – Shayna Ferm
The Bump, the definitive voice for all things pregnancy and parenting, is pleased to announce they will be presenting The Pump and Dump show’s performance in Florida, complete with giveaways, prizes, and most importantly, VALIDATION for beleaguered moms and dads in the South Florida area.

What is your biggest stress as a mom?
Shayna: Sick kids. Worrying about them getting sick and then when they are sick. And stressing about it just makes everything worse.
‘Doula: I think I worry abnormally about preserving her innocence and happiness, and every decision is wrapped up in that…school, activities, health, TV…you name it.
What is one product you can’t live without?
Shayna: Costco Kirkland wipes. Also helpful for deodorant stain removal and “freshening up” yourself when needed.
How do you stay organized?
Shayna: I have an irrational amount of bins in my house for toys, school stuff, coloring stuff, etc. They are full of chaos and things that really just just be thrown away, but as long as I can’t see them, I FEEL organized.
‘Doula: I gotta be honest. I’m really just flying by the seat of my pants most of the time.
How do you make your kids stay organized?
Shayna: They aren’t. Putting their shoes in their shoe bin is about as much as they can handle at their ages.
‘Doula: As long as legos, crayons and any paper product exist in my house, organization is futile.
Great vacation spot for you and your family?
Shayna: What’s a vacation?
‘Doula: Luckily we live in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains are literally the greatest playground in the world. Get ‘em outside and run ‘em till they collapse!
Must have fashion item now?
Shayna: I just bought a new pair of overalls and I have to say I’m very happy in them and am very glad their back instill. Are they back in style?
‘Doula: Booties! I’m trying to wear real shoes more. You know, like a grown up.
What do you do for yourself?
Shayna: I drink. Lately I spoiled myself with blue cheese stuffed olives for my martinis. Also – I get to do what I love for my career, so that’s kind of for myself and awesome.
‘Doula: I finally committed to working out on a regular basis. It’s the best therapy I could ever ask for. And I quit drinking coffee regularly. Honestly, it’s really helped my mood.
What is your favorite app right now?
Shayna: For me – Trulia. I love looking at houses for sale. For my kids – Disney Magic Timer for tooth brushing – although we STILL can’t figure out how to get consistent “achievements.”
